Ormskirk Mark Lodge No 734 Installation 11TH November 2021

In late September 2021 Ormskirk Mark Lodge belatedly celebrated 100 years since Consecration and Ormskirk Masonic Hall was full to bursting point when the full Provincial team including R.W. Bro Keith Beardmore, Provincial Grand Master were in attendance to mark the occasion. The Worshipful Master, Bro. Frank Umbers, presented the Provincial Grand Master with a cheque in favour of the West Lancashire Mark Charity Fund for the magnificent sum of £1,000!

The Lodge was to be honoured by the presence of the Provincial Grand Senior Warden Bro. David Winder, unfortunately he was indisposed, and I was invited to take his place. I was attending in any event so this was not a problem, and it gave me the opportunity of participating in the proceedings by Addressing the Brethren.
I.
Although, post Covid lockdown, attendance was limited W. Bro. Prior was expertly Installed by his predecessor in a delightful Ceremony. The new Worshipful Master is coming to an end, later this month, of a 3-year term as Master of Ormskirk Priory Mark Lodge and was clearly taking a very keen interest of the Installing Master’s work.
Other Brethren contributed to the occasion with W. Bro John Glover PProvSGD presenting the Working Tools. In the absence of V.W. Bro Fred Hargreaves, I explained the Keystone Jewel, and the Master was addressed by W. Bro John Glover. The address to the Wardens was delivered by W.Bro. Paul Carr PProvGSwdB and The Overseers were Addressed by the hard-working Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro. Mike Melling PProvAGDC. Finally, I delivered the Address to the Brethren. I am pleased to say that all the Addresses proceeded smoothly. After I had brought the new Worshipful Master the Greetings and Congratulations of the RW Provincial Grand Master I received a further donation to the Charity of which I am the Hon. Treasurer in the sum of £500.
What a splendid way to end proceedings.

The usual, superb, Festive Board followed and a great time was had by all present.

I am sure that everybody, especially the new Worshipful Master, went home feeling that they had enjoyed a fine evening of Mark Masonry.
